This work is delivered with its velvet embroidered sleeve, signed KARL LAGASSE, handcrafted in Normandy.

Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, gained notoriety in 2009 with his sculptures One Dollar, ranking that same year among the ten best sculptors under 30 according to Artprice. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him one of the fifty best contemporary artists, inspired by traditional American icons, in its book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, at the Art Paris Art Fair, the President of the French Republic warmly congratulated Karl for his impressive two-meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, exhibited at the Grand Palais.
Karl’s artistic journey began at age 7 with collages, prompted by his meeting with sculptor César Baldaccini. He later turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris metro while remaining passionate about collages. The artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to fuse his tags with his collages. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, which led to his first solo show in 2006 at the Isy Brachot gallery in Brussels. In 2008, he returned to Paris with an exhibition combining paintings, sculptures, and video elements at the Espace Pierre Cardin.
2026: - Finalization of the work One Dollar Green Bronze 8 meters 7 tons. The world’s largest One Dollar sculpture created by the artist.
2025: - Installation of the monumental work Reflection of the Sun. Installed near the brand-new Pavillon des Bains, on the Promenade Michel d’Ornano, inaugurated by the mayor Philippe Augier on September 8.
2024: - Art Miami - Collectors Galerie Nicolas Auvray New York. For the occasion, a bronze cryptogram of 1m80 and a 2-meter One Dollar were exhibited during the event.

2015: - Second collaboration with Maserati with the creation of a monumental installation entitled « A Piece of Heaven on Earth ». This work features a Maserati covered with a white plastic film and a sculpture of Jesus Christ. Around the car, several sculptures representing one-dollar bills are placed on the ground, symbolizing the repayment of humanity’s greatest debt.
