Decorative Japanese ink pot dating from the early 20th century, cast in bronze (with iron castings) and Bakelite, features a temple complex titled “NIKKO” on the lid, high-relief dragons on the sides, two ink reservoirs and two contrasting pen holders, in good used condition with minor signs of age and stains.

This decorative Japanese bronze inkpot dates from the early 20th century and is executed in richly detailed relief with traditional Japanese motifs. On the lid is a depiction of a temple complex, with the inscription 'NIKKO', referring to the famous temple town in Japan.
The sides feature dragons in high relief, a symbol of strength and protection within Japanese culture. The inkpot has two separate ink reservoirs and is equipped with two original pen holders in contrasting red and blue, giving the object a striking character.
The whole is made of cast metal (bronze or bronze alloy) and shows a beautiful, authentic patina that emphasizes its age and use. This type of object was often sold as a high-quality souvenir or used as a desk accessory in the Meiji and early Taishō period.
