Description from the seller
This illustration features the legendary BMW M3 E46 set in a nocturnal Tokyo atmosphere. Captured beneath a massive urban structure, the car appears low, wide, and silent on the wet asphalt, illuminated only by city lights and its headlights piercing the darkness.
The deep black-and-white treatment heightens the contrasts and textures of the scene, giving the image a cinematic dimension. The industrial architecture and the Japanese characters in the background plunge the viewer into the underground aesthetic of Tokyo streets.
A work that captures the raw essence of the M3 E46: power, mystery, and nocturnal urban culture.
dimensions of the work: 60 X 60
Contemporary visual artist working mainly with Photoshop and Lightroom, my work blends digital illustration with cinematic urban aesthetics. My pieces explore the meeting point between automotive culture, nighttime atmospheres, and Japanese symbolism.
I draw inspiration from Shintoism, Nihonga painting, and certain forms of abstraction inspired by gesture and ink. The visual universe of my images also draws from Nicolas Winding Refn’s film Drive, particularly in its colorist approach: strong contrasts, neon lights, and nocturnal atmospheres that give each scene almost a cinematic dimension.
Japanese automotive culture plays a central role in my work, especially the aesthetics of radical builds by Akira Nakai and the heritage of the hashiriya culture. Through my compositions, I seek to give cars an almost mythical presence, where the machine becomes a character moving through an urban setting rich in symbolism.
My images are designed to create a sense of space and depth, placing the viewer at the heart of the scene, as if caught in a suspended moment between reality, urban culture, and visual imagination.
