Ardesia presents Gabbia, a unique 2025 sculpture in ferro with a glass panel fractured by a controlled fracture and a sculptural steel-and-glass assemblage, measuring 72 × 45 × 35 cm, signed by the artist, 1/1 edition, in excellent condition and sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
Title: Cage
Artist: Ardesia
Technique: Controlled fracture on glass, sculptural assembly
Materials: Iron structure with anti-corrosion treatment, coated steel cables, glass
Dimensions: approximately 72×45×35 cm
Year: 2025
Condition: Excellent – handmade.
Description of the work:
Cage is a contemporary sculpture that explores the delicate balance between tension, fragility, and inner constraint. The piece develops within a stainless iron structure crossed by a network of coated steel cables that sketch a dynamic weave in space, like a three-dimensional spider’s web.
At the center of the structure hangs a glass pane, a fragile and transparent element that becomes the visual and symbolic focal point of the composition. The surface of the glass has been worked with a controlled fracture technique, a precise and deliberate intervention that generates an evocative radial mark: a figure reminiscent of a spider, frozen in the moment of its expansion.
The fracture lines propagate like illuminated filaments through the matter, creating an organic drawing that captures and reflects light, turning the break into an aesthetic and poetic gesture.
Artistic concept:
In Cage, the spider becomes a powerful metaphor for the human condition. The creature that weaves its own web now appears trapped in the very fabric it created. The spider web thus transforms from a tool of control into a space of confinement.
The work invites intimate and universal reflection: often it is not external barriers that limit us, but the invisible structures we build inside ourselves. Fears, doubts, and personal limits become fine threads that, when intertwined, can turn into a cage.
The sculpture engages dialogue between order and fracture, tension and fragility, inviting the observer to question the boundary between protection and inner imprisonment.
Presentation:
Unique work, entirely handmade by the artist.
Signed by the artist Ardesia on the structure.
Thanks to its transparency and open structure, the piece interacts with light and the surrounding space, generating ever-new perspectives depending on the viewing point.
Ideal for contemporary art collections, minimalist environments, or exhibition spaces.
Shipping:
The work will be carefully packed with professional materials to ensure maximum protection during transport.
