The work can be placed within a contemporary reinterpretation of the cubist language, where the portrait is constructed through geometric planes that fragment the figure and reorganize the pictorial space. The black line structures the shapes and recalls the lead of stained glass, creating a clear and architectural composition.
In Geometry of a Stained Glass the portrait is transformed into a color architecture where each chromatic plane functions as a piece within a larger structure. The composition evokes the language of stained glass, where forms are organized by a network of lines that contain and articulate the light.
The black line plays an essential role within the painting. Not only does it delineate the figures, but it acts as a visual structure that sustains the whole composition, evoking the lead that joins the pieces of glass in traditional stained glass. Thanks to this line, the pictorial space gains architectural clarity where each fragment finds its place.
Color unfolds in a vibrant palette where blues, reds, yellows, and greens generate luminous contrasts that evoke the sensation of light passing through a stained glass window. The visible brushstroke preserves the presence of the painterly gesture, recalling the manual process that shapes each plane.
The character appears integrated within this chromatic architecture, as if their identity were built from fragments of light and geometry. In this way, the work proposes a visual meditation on the relationship between figure and structure, transforming the portrait into a composition where the face and the space meld into a single architecture of color.
