Seven wooden batik stamp blocks from Indonesia, used to apply textile patterns in batik production, dating to about 1950–1960, with handgrips on the back and decorative motifs, in good used condition with signs of age; height about 7 cm, width 14–17 cm, depth 6.5–14 cm, brown colour.

Special set of 8 traditional Indonesian batik stamps (cap), used for applying patterns to textiles in the production of batik fabrics.
The stamps are hand-carved from wood and show various decorative motifs such as flowers, geometric patterns and botanical ornaments. On the back, the blocks have a handle so they could be easily dipped in wax or paint and then pressed onto fabric.
This type of stamp was widely used in Java (Indonesia) in traditional batik production. In addition to their original function, these stamps are nowadays also popular as collectibles or decorative ethnographic objects.
The different shapes and motifs make this set especially interesting for collectors of textile printing, ethnography and Asian handicrafts.
Condition:
Good used condition with wear, patina and small signs of use appropriate to age and use in textile printing.
