Description from the seller

Vase from the Traumland series, designed by W. Mutze - of enormous size.

White porcelain covered with multicolored (shades of brown, gold) decoration executed in the mazerunku technique, on which there are unusual plant motifs.

The Traumland series vases are beautifully gilded, the color palette (flowers in delicate colors, against a brown patina) is stunning.
Each vase in this series is hand-painted, and the bottom bears a signature with the series name, designer, and designation of hand painting.

Walter Mutze – (1893-1963) was a prominent porcelain designer.
He collaborated with Rosenthal from 1913 to 1961, where he rose to the position of Chief Master in the Arts Department (Kunstabteilung).
His works decorated with a technique he himself patented enjoy enduring popularity among collectors worldwide.
