With "Les Irréductibles," SKE pays tribute to one of the most emblematic universes of European comic art, reinterpreting the legendary Gaul heroes through a decidedly contemporary aesthetic.

The composition draws inspiration from the graphic language of sketchbooks and urban walls: annotations, symbols, narrative elements and pictorial traces layer over each other to create a vibrant, almost living scene. Asterix and Obelix appear as modern mythological figures, emerging from visual chaos where humor, combat and collective memory mingle.

Between artistic sketch and street art intervention, SKE plays with the codes of popular culture, transforming these timeless characters into powerful graphic icons. Winged helmets, references to the Romans, and iconic inscriptions enrich the scene as fragments of history.

The work captures the very essence of these heroes: resilience, camaraderie and the indomitable spirit that has marked several generations of readers.

With Les Irréductibles, SKE offers a contemporary reading of a popular myth, where comics meet the raw energy of street art and the sensibility of contemporary art.

A narrative and generational piece aimed at collectors who appreciate works blending nostalgia, pop culture and urban artistic expression.
- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught French artist and all-rounder who grew up immersed in 80s/90s culture, inspiring a large portion of his artistic work.

He continually explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stencils, graffiti, urban installations and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with double meaning, fuse the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.

After an exceptional 2025, SKE’s profile has risen notably. Winner of the first prize in the Urban Master contest (2023), then elected Newcomer of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE was selected as "Artist of the Month" by the Opulence gallery in October, and he also received a feature in an American art magazine confirming his international recognition.

His works have already been exhibited at major venues in Europe, the United States and Asia, solidifying his place on the contemporary art scene. In parallel, SKE also establishes himself in the digital art market, a major trend of the past two years, strengthening the appeal of his creations to collectors.

Icons of popular culture, bold graphics and texture play define a style now essential.

SKE is, without a doubt, an artist to follow, to start or enrich a collection with rising value.

Acclaimed & Awarded Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art

A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY SKE’s work sits within a prestigious lineage. His lines carry the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works create a bridge between eras: they reinterpret the classics, not hesitating to remix Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to confront them with a modern urban aesthetic close to Mr Brainwash or Kaws.

POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA Drawing on the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He stage-manages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comics and graphic novels is omnipresent: from the Nintendo universe and the legendary Game Boy, to Pokémon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), and the Marvel superheroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.

LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY In a style that sometimes recalls Alec Monopoly, the artist toys with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits beside logos of luxury and fashion giants. His canvases capture the aesthetic of "Hype": you’ll encounter sneaker culture (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also incorporates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watches (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass-consumption icons like Coca-Cola. It’s vibrant art with textured finishes that evoke the glossy surface of a Jeff Koons or the facets of a Richard Orlinski.

This work is ideal for enriching a collection or bringing a dynamic touch to your interior.
