The first image represents the passage of the artwork from the exterior wall to the interior space of buildings. What is born on the street, in the urban and public context, is transferred inside apartments, houses or museums, completely changing the environment and meaning. In this case, the most interesting wall detail has been selected and cut out—the spot where the street artist had carried out the intervention on the outside. The fragment is then detached from the original street context and transformed into an autonomous object. Once cut, this piece of wall can be transferred and placed indoors: in homes, in buildings, in museums or in other structures. In this way the work changes environment and function, moving from the public and everyday space of the street to a private or institutional space, where it is preserved and exhibited as a true artistic object. All of this represents a kind of imagined reconstruction by the artist, reflecting on the process of moving the work from the urban context to the domestic or museum setting.
