Description from the seller
Espanso / Building Material
Indefinite dimensions for wall effect of a broken wall
This is an original stencil by the artist MART SIGNED.
ATTENTION the sold work is the clipping
The first image represents the passage of the work from the external wall to the inner space of the buildings. What is born on the street, in the urban and public context, is transferred inside palaces, houses or museums, completely changing environment and meaning. In this case, the most interesting street corner is selected and cut out—the one on which the street artist had carried out the exterior intervention. The fragment is then detached from the original street context and transformed into an autonomous object. Once the clipping is done, this piece of wall can be moved and placed inside: in homes, in buildings, in museums or in other structures. In this way the work changes environment and function, moving from the public and everyday space of the street to a private or institutional space, where it is preserved and displayed as a true artistic object. All this represents a kind of imagined reconstruction by the artist, reflecting on the process of moving the work from the urban context to the domestic or museum setting.
.
Original stencil art work (made with authentic materials recovered from the street, a distinctive element that guarantees its uniqueness and character.
Natural imperfections, marks and dents of the materials are not defects, but integral parts of the work: they testify to its urban life and reinforce the typical identity of true Street Art.
The work is delivered ready to be hung; any framed images are only for illustrative purposes.
The painting is signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, guaranteeing the originality and value of the work.
