Beautiful oil painting by Frans de Wit.

Frans de Wit was born on 14 November 1901 in Veldhoven (North Brabant) and died on 9 April 1981 in St Oedenrode. Self-taught.
Worked in The Hague from 1949 to 1960, after which he moved to Son en Breugel in Brabant. Member of Pulchri Studio, the Haagse Kunstkring, the Posthoorn group, Fugare and Verve. Traveled to Italy and France. Works, among others, in the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague and the Rijkscollectie. Mentioned in Jacobs (2000).
Frans de Wit was married to the artist sculptor Josje van Riemsdijk (1915 - 2005).
Painting in good condition, frame with signs of use.
