Description from the seller

Important set of three solid silver champagne coolers – Milan, early 20th century (ca. 1910–1920)

Magnificent and rare set of three solid silver champagne coolers, produced in Milan in the early 20th century, around 1910–1920.

These pieces show exceptional craftsmanship typical of the great Milanese silversmith tradition, at a time when Milan was one of the most important Italian centres for luxury silver production.

The surfaces are richly decorated with deep repoussé and chased ornamentation, featuring elegant:
• floral motifs
• scrolling foliage
• néo classical decorative elements
• refined Liberty (Italian Art Nouveau) influences typical of the period.

The sculptural ring handles and the elegant proportions give these champagne coolers a particularly impressive and luxurious presence.

The set consists of:
• two tall champagne coolers
• one large champagne bowl on pedestal

Each piece displays finely worked relief decoration with remarkable attention to detail and strong artistic character.

The objects come from the estate of a wealthy Milanese family, where they were preserved for generations.
