Description from the seller
This sumptuous Chanel brooch is an iconic collectible piece, born from the historic collaboration between the house on rue Cambon and the art jeweler Gripoix. A true masterpiece of haute fantasy, it perfectly embodies the Byzantine and Baroque aesthetics dear to Gabrielle Chanel.
The piece centers around a prominent central cabochon in nude/peach pâte de verre, accompanied by the gold CC logo. This centerpiece is set in a mount of gold-plated metal, surrounded by an airy geometric framework. Eight translucent cast glass cabochons, alternating square and triangular shapes, capture the light with a clarity reminiscent of rock crystal. The artisanal technique of cast glass, a signature of Maison Gripoix, gives each stone a depth and texture that are impossible to reproduce industrially.
On the reverse, the brooch bears the oval signature disc guaranteeing its authenticity and French origin. Despite its vintage character, the gilding retains a superb patina and the safety clasp is perfectly functional. It’s a rare opportunity to acquire a testament to the heritage of French fashion, a piece that is both sculptural and timeless, sure to enhance any collection of luxury jewelry.
