M. Burgaz, Picoteando, a 70 × 57 cm mixed‑media painting using acrylic, from Spain, 2021, original edition, signed, depicting nature in multicolor with blue and white, sold directly by the artist, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
This painting can be considered a satire, a mockery, or a dystopia in which people and chickens eat together. Everyone pecks at the ground without bothering or surprising each other. A work with a message and reflection that is intensified by the strength of color and the cross that runs through it. This piece is delivered in a cardboard box and its delivery is not immediate since it is located in a city that is not where the artist works.
María Burgaz (1970) knew from a very young age that her vocation was art. She began her training at the School of Decorative Arts in Madrid, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid in the Painting specialty in 1993. Later she completed her studies at FIT in New York.
Winner of competitions such as the Wellington Foundation, Professional Football Foundation, Woman and Society, Iberdrola-UEX, UNED, Eugenio Hermoso, Gran Casino de Torrelodones… her work, in addition to being part of the collections of these institutions, also appears in those of town halls such as Gibraleón, Valdemoro, Martos, Horche, Deputación de Alicante…
She has held dozens of solo and group exhibitions both in Spain and abroad, and her work is also in numerous private collections around the world.
Her hardworking and enthusiastic spirit has led her to participate in all kinds of projects and to collaborate with designers, writers, and anything that allows her to express everything she carries inside. Her work always reveals the stage she is living through, her vitality and her particular sense of humor and way of understanding life, always with mastery of techniques that she combines and juxtaposes to create unique paintings of great narrative and technical richness.
Her works always include a certificate of authenticity and when they are on canvas they are shipped rolled in a rigid tube for greater security.
