Description from the seller
Title: Aphrodite – a homage to classical beauty
Technique: Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 140 x 140 cm
Artist: Francesco Farolfi, Florentine painter
The work depicts a large female face inspired by classical Greek sculpture, particularly the figure of Aphrodite. The artist reinterprets the ideal features of the goddess with a contemporary sensibility, where the purity of ancient marble blends with veils and delicate chromes, splashes of color and vibrant marks that evoke matter and time.
The overall effect is suspended between the memory of the past and the emotional strength of the present.
The author, active in Florence, comes from a long experience in decorative painting and restoration. For several years he has dedicated himself to his own personal artistic research, focused on large faces and urban landscapes, in which he combines technical mastery and poetic introspection. The work is shipped as visible in the photo, mounted on the frame.
