Description from the seller

Claiming Silence
Acrylic painting on panel 90x60 - 2024

Her lips, soft and provocative, encircle the silver as if a secret not to be shared.
With her own hand clenched around her face, she holds herself — not to stop, but to master. The cross between her teeth gleams like a promise, a prayer, a quiet rebellion.
In this frozen moment the world seems to be waiting,
as if she is about to let go — or to bite down hard.

As an artist I prefer to deliver my work personally. This personal delivery is completely free for the buyer and is always arranged in consultation. Other possibilities are, of course, negotiable. I think it is important to meet the buyers of my work in person.

about me:
I am Alexander, a portrait artist, and I work with acrylic paint on panel. In my paintings the human face is central, and especially the female face. There I find a richness of emotion, vulnerability and strength that continues to fascinate me.

As an autistic artist I often experience the world in an analytical, structured and intense way. Emotions can sometimes be difficult to place or understand in daily life. That is precisely why I paint portraits. Painting helps me make visible feeling, tension and human vulnerability.

In the female portrait I search for the subtle layers of emotion that often go unspoken: a look, a silence, a moment of introspection. With acrylic paint I work in layers of color, light and expressive brushstrokes to make that inner world tangible. Likeness is not always the end goal for me; more important is that a portrait makes you feel something.

My work arises from the tension between analysis and emotion. From an analytical way of looking I try to understand and visualize the emotional world of a face. Painting, for me, is a way to bring these two worlds together.
