Description from the seller
F2B – “BeetleCan Coke 218” (2024)
Edition limited – 2/8
This work is part of the BeetleCan series, one of the most recognizable visual universes of the French artist F2B, where the aesthetics of consumer culture are reinterpreted through a contemporary pop language.
Inspired by the iconography of global brands, F2B transforms a beetle — a symbol of nature and metamorphosis — into a hybrid object between biology and industrial design. The insect’s body appears coated with graphic elements associated with the Coca-Cola brand, creating a provocative dialogue between nature, advertising, and visual identity.
Formed at the prestigious École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré, in Paris, F2B built his career between the world of creative direction and contemporary art. After years as an art director and creative in agencies, he freed himself from the constraints of advertising to explore, in his work, the appropriation and reinvention of logos and popular symbols — an approach that brings him closer to the tradition of contemporary Pop Art.
In the BeetleCan series, beetles appear as almost museological specimens, “mounted” as if they were entomological collection pieces, but coated with metal plates and visual identities of major brands. The result is simultaneously playful, critical and highly aesthetic.
The work is presented in high-quality digital print on plexiglass, with a front UV and humidity-resistant laminate, ensuring excellent preservation and chromatic intensity.
• Year: 2024
• Edition: 2/8 + 4 artist proofs
• Dimensions: 30 × 30 cm
• Technique: digital print on plexiglass
• Signature: signed by the artist
• Condition: excellent condition
• Certificate of authenticity included
F2B’s works are regularly exhibited in contemporary art galleries and international private collections, standing out for the combination of pop culture, graphic aesthetics and commentary on the power of brands in today’s society.
A visually impactful and highly collectible piece, ideal for collectors of urban art, pop art and contemporary art tied to brand culture.
