Brass, Bakelite - India - 20th century

Small vintage brass incense burner – oriental style, made in brass and Bakelite. The piece features a base in the shape of a small vessel with a perforated upper bowl where incense or aromatic charcoal was placed.
Includes a side tube with a decorative finish that gives a very characteristic design of this type of oriental objects.
These types of pieces were mainly manufactured in India during the 1960s-1970s as decorative objects and domestic incense burners.
The brass presents a nice antique patina and the upper bowl shows signs of use from the heat of the incense.
