Description from the seller

Antique tantō with 'kata-shinogi' asymmetric blade in koshirae.

The relatively small and narrow blade is notable in itself.
Particularly rare is the type: on one side the blade is shinogi-zukuri and on the other side hira-zukuri.
In old polish with superficial scratches and rust spots, but there are no fatal (forge) flaws. The hamon and boshi are still very visible.

The mounting is made to fit the blade, with the exception of the signed tsuba.
There is beautiful lacquer work applied to the scabbard, which is finished at the end with a kojiri (peony).
The menuki theme is Kuydo (archery). The theme of the fuchi and kashira: shimenawa and shimekazari (Shinto religion).

Blade length: 22.5 cm
Total length of the koshirae: 44.5 cm
