Description from the seller
THE RED EARRINGS
90 x 70 cm
Acrylic on canvas, 2020
Description of the work
The red earrings presents a frontal portrait constructed from the division of the face into two contrasted halves. This fragmentation introduces a visual tension that is reinforced by the use of color, differentiating areas of light and shadow through defined chromatic planes. The composition, direct and centered, emphasizes the presence of the face as the main element.
The red earrings act as a visual accent and equilibrium point within the work, establishing a dialogue with the tones of the background. The simplification of shapes and the chromatic intensity build a synthetic image where identity, contrast, and structure integrate into a contemporary representation of the portrait.
PACKAGING AND AUTHENTICITY

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mar Legón develops a pictorial practice focused on exploring color as structure and emotion. Her work is characterized by clear compositions, formal synthesis, and vibrant contrasts that place the everyday in a contemporary territory.
Through still lifes, tropical scenes, and elements from the immediate environment, she builds a coherent and recognizable visual language. Each work is an original piece that reflects ongoing research into the balance between form, color, and space, consolidating a solid artistic identity with potential for growth.
