Title: "Unruhe"
Description:
It feels as if someone has captured a moment when everything has fallen out of balance. The black lines tear across the light surface like thoughts that cannot be ordered—suddenly, unbridled, a little too loud. Nothing about it is calm or planned, and that is precisely what feels familiar.
One looks and feels this quiet pull, this inward tipping, when silence is no longer quiet. As if something is working beneath the surface, spreading, without a clear beginning and without a end. The splatters resemble traces of a moment in which control no longer matters—only movement, only feeling.
"Unruhe" is not chaos that destroys. It is more the in-between: the moment before something clarifies… or before it finally falls apart.

The canvas is delivered rolled.
Christoph Prein is an Austrian artist known for his abstract and contemporary works, created mainly with acrylic paints. Originally from St. Margarethen near Knittelfeld, Prein’s pieces are often characterized by a minimalist, abstract style and are carefully crafted from high-quality materials to ensure vibrant colors and longevity. In his art, he frequently engages themes such as identity, memory, and the exploration of human emotions, often pushing the boundaries between the visible and the invisible.
Prein’s approach to art is multidimensional, combining painting with elements of sculpture and installation. This distinctive style has earned him recognition both in Austria and internationally, with exhibitions across Europe, North America, and Asia. His works often invite the viewer to reflect on the complexities of the modern world and the deeper aspects of the human experience.
For a painting measuring 200 x 110 cm, you need a cradle frame of size 190 x 100 cm and a thickness of 2-4 cm.
You can either stretch the canvas yourself or have it stretched by an artisan or gallery owner.
This is a handmade original, signed by the artist on the back and dated by year.
High-quality and lightfast acrylic paints have been applied on a white-primed gallery canvas.
A varnish was also applied to protect the work.
This work is handmade and therefore a one-of-a-kind!
--- Certificate of authenticity included ---
Beautify your private residence, law firm, practice, or office and enhance your spaces in an elegant and stylish way.
When a person goes into his innermost depths, into a sphere that rarely comes to light, into a space that is mysterious and hidden, waiting to be discovered, tickled awake, even painfully uplifted, then art is born.
