About Kobalt /

Kobalt, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the journey of a polymath artist whose creativity has extended from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present thanks to his father, a draftsman, Kobalt discovers very young his first passion, music creation. This passion guides him in his youth, and his early talents lead him to take a bold decision: Invest the money intended to fund his higher education to invest in the creation of his first album.
Distributed by EMI, the album does not meet the anticipated success, but it marks the beginning of an artistic career rich in experimentation.

Parallel to his musical career, Kobalt engages in the advertising world as a copywriter for the iconic magazine Playboy. For many years, he brings his creativity to the publication by creating and producing the magazine's advertising campaigns.

The turning point of his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cameraman, thus exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founds his own photo agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, Kobalt makes a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who has become a major figure in worldwide street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted artistic creation, Kobalt stands out with more than 2000 works sold in galleries and online to date.

His unique artistic approach is marked by bold use of humor, provocation and anachronisms, with a particular penchant for altering magazine covers, a style that makes him instantly recognizable.

The influence of contemporary artists such as Banksy and Shepard Fairey pervades Kobalt's work, testifying to his ongoing admiration for these iconic figures. Despite the digital era, Kobalt has chosen to stay away from social networks, thus preserving a certain privacy. Today, he uses all available digital tools to bring his creations to life, continuing to push the boundaries of artistic expression with a subtle blend of inspiration, innovation and humor.
