Description from the seller

Title: Lemons of the Coast
Oil on canvas, 50 × 40 cm

The work opens with an explosion of solar yellow: a majestic lemon tree occupies the entire left side and the upper part of the composition, its branches heavy with ripe, round, luminous fruit that seem almost to weigh on the air. The green leaves, dense and vibrant, create a lively contrast with the glossy skin of the lemons, while some fruits hang down almost to touch the dirt path that climbs toward the house.
In the center, nestled between the lemon grove and the cliff, rises a typical Mediterranean house in warm ocher, with slightly peeling plaster revealing the patina of time. The blue door at the bottom and the window with a wrought-iron balcony on the upper floor dialogue with the deep blue of the sea, while the red-tiled roof adds a touch of earthly warmth. Three white steps lead to the entrance, wrapped by lemon bushes that seem to grow spontaneously around the threshold, as if nature had decided to embrace the dwelling.
On the right, the cliff slopes down sharply toward a cobalt-blue sea, rippling with light white waves. A white sailing boat is anchored in the foreground, solitary and silent, while two smaller sails dot the horizon, almost suspended between sky and water. In the background, the coastline stretches into a succession of green and rocky hills, on which a small village of white and ocher houses climbs, typical of the Coast. Farther away, the mountains fade into blue and gray tones, under a clear sky pierced by soft white clouds that filter a full and joyful light.
Bondi’s palette is bold and luminous: the yellows of the lemons reflect on the yellow of the house, the lush greens are mirrored in the waters, the cobalt and cerulean blues create depth and breathing space. The brushwork is fluid, rich in body, capable of rendering the volume of the fruit, the texture of the plaster, and the movement of the sea without ever losing the freshness of an en plein air impression.
The work conveys absolute serenity, a sensory invitation: one perceives the sharp-sweet scent of lemons warmed by the sun, the salty breeze rising from the cliff, the silence broken only by the rustle of leaves and the gentle lapping of the waves. A perfect celebration of the harmony between spontaneous architecture, generous nature, and marine landscape, in which every element seems to breathe in unison in a timeless idyl.
