Description from the seller
Couple of floral paintings signed G. Müller – handcrafted gilded frames – early 1900s
Elegant pair of paintings depicting floral compositions, signed G. Müller, dating from the early years of the twentieth century. The works present delicate still lifes with multicolored bouquet flowers arranged in a vase, executed with a soft, luminous painting that conveys a romantic and decorative atmosphere typical of European painting production at the turn of the century.
The compositions are characterized by a refined palette, with pastel tones and natural colors that enhance the richness of the depicted flowers. The balanced arrangement of the scenes and the attention to detail give the paintings considerable ornamental value.
Particularly interesting are the carved wooden frames gilded by hand, featuring deep moldings and shaped profiles that create an elegant play of light and shadow. The gilding shows a natural patina that testifies to the object's age and enhances its historical charm.
The overall effect is extremely harmonious and decorative, ideal for displaying in a pair on a wall, as was often done in elegant homes in the early decades of the twentieth century. The quality of the frames and the delicacy of the subjects make this lot perfect for classical, vintage, or eclectic interiors.
