VANTA Genesis, an original oil painting by VANTA, 180 x 130 cm, hand signed, in excellent condition, created in 2020+, from Austria, contemporary style, sold directly from the artist, original edition, unframed and delivered rolled in a tube.
Description from the seller
“Genesis” (2026)
Oil on canvas
180 x 130 cm
A figure surfaces from deep blue with the head arched back, throat extended, face turned skyward - and yet the form is fractured, the head incomplete, its edges dissolving into the blue from which VANTA has drawn it. The removal technique traces what remains of the face and neck with sweeping strokes, the figure built from blue through subtraction, its damaged state rendered with the same intentionality as its surviving anatomy.
Where Memento reads as excavation, this figure reads as arrival - something in the process of forming rather than eroding, the incompleteness belonging to emergence rather than decay. Represented by S-Gallery and available on Catawiki. The long exposed throat and the backward tilt of the head carry a quality of opening, of breath drawn at the moment before becoming whole - a form not yet finished, caught mid-genesis in blue.
Everything is single blue, all gradation achieved through how much has been removed. The broken head does not diminish the figure. It suspends it at the threshold between absence and form.
Shipping:
The work is delivered without a frame (professional packaging, rolled in a tube). it can easily be restretched by a professional or on your own, this is also cheaper then the otherwise increased cost of shipping when sending paintings of this size stretched
The measurements indicated are those of the painting stretched and mounted on a frame (The actual
measurements of the canvas are larger to allow it to be mounted on a frame 2-4cm thick.
