Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) – “Aurora Ikea Cult” – Ikea - 4/20
When the brand becomes a belief.
Following the success of the Aurora Borealis series, Aurora Original Fake Counterfeit, Aurora Authentic Fake… AMA continues its ironic exploration of contemporary myths, between mass culture, global consumption and the blind trust placed in commercial icons.
“Aurora Ikea Cult” distorts the imaginary of a universal brand to turn it into a luminous, chrome, hypnotic work of art, almost ritual.
On the front face, the message is clear:
" IKEA ", fixed as a symbol, recognizable above all others.
On the sides, the formula imposes itself, no detours:
" IN / WE TRUST ".
A minimalist, immediate, universal profession of faith.
A contemporary belief engraved in wood.
The day: a chrome, smooth, familiar icon.
The night: a multicolored northern lights beams, suffusing the space.
A brutal contrast between mass consumption and modern devotion.
Edition limited to 20 copies for 2025, signed, numbered and delivered with AMA authenticity certificate.
Fast and secure shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper, reinforced cardboard) with signature upon delivery.
Specifications:
- 7 luminous colors
- 3 diffusion modes (fixed, fading transitions, simple transitions)
- Electrical power via USB cord with switch (supplied)
- Height: 20 cm
- Width: 9 cm
- Depth: 9 cm
Who is AMA?
Born from the fusion of talents of French artist friends, the AMA collective invites you into its universe mixing vibrant colors and varied materials.
Sculptures, paintings and installations, the collective passionately employs a multitude of techniques to give life to its works.
The AMA collective mainly draws inspiration from the world around it but also from currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name but a few.
Whether as a gift, a memento or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite piece thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, AMA channels its passion for urban art through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (limited or non-limited editions) covering a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, drug abuse, luxury and haute couture brands, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, food and fashion industry products (sport, sneakers...),
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, AMA enjoys playfully distorting labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others.
Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort so that all information necessary to assess the lot sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unfounded claims will be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
