Description from the seller
This work was created in an expressive painterly manner, combining elements of impressionism with contemporary figurative art. The surface was built through thick, tactile layers of paint, allowing each brushstroke to remain visible and alive. The materiality of paint was essential — form was shaped through color rather than strict drawing.
A bold and luminous palette was used, where intense reds interacted with cool turquoise and delicate floral tones. Light was not constructed academically; instead, color itself defined form and atmosphere. The texture of the paint played a central role, creating movement, depth, and emotional presence.
In this work, a woman was depicted immersed in a quiet, intimate moment of tea. She appeared in a flowing red dress, her posture relaxed, her presence calm yet slightly distant — as if existing between reality and a dream.
The surrounding space was allowed to dissolve into a vibrant, almost abstract field of color. The blossoms were not rendered literally; instead, jasmine was suggested through soft pink forms and airy transitions of turquoise and light. It was more important to evoke a sensation — to let the viewer feel the fragrance rather than see it.
On the table, a tea set, a folded fan, and a dark bottle were placed — simple objects grounding the composition in everyday life. At the same time, the painting transformed this moment. The red dress became the emotional center, built with thick, luminous strokes so that it seemed to breathe and move.
This was not intended as just a scene of tea, but as a state of feeling, where color, texture, and light merged into a sensual and poetic experience.
The painting was stretched on a gallery (studio) canvas, with the edges painted in tones that continue the composition, allowing it to be displayed without an additional frame. It was created using Van Gogh acrylic paints and finished with three layers of protective UV-resistant varnish. The artwork is original and one of a kind.
