In this captivating creation titled "The Sleeping Kabigon", Medsan signs a masterful mashup between the cult universe of Pokémon and the traditional aesthetics of the Japanese woodblock print (Ukiyo-e).

The work features the iconic Snorlax, dozing in the middle of a countryside path and blocking the way with its usual amiability, under the unfazed gaze of the majestic Mount Fuji in the background. Around the pocket monster, village life unfolds with humor and poetry: passersby and warriors approach, torn between misunderstanding and fascination. While some inspect this placid giant or don’t hesitate to pet it, a woman rushes to bring him food in a traditional box. The composition perfectly respects the classical codes of the print, with its soft color palette, green rice fields and terraced perspective.

Note the authentic detail: the signature "Medsan" is calligraphed in Japanese characters (katakana) in a traditional cartouche located at the top right of the composition.
