The decorative marble obelisk, dating to 1950–1960, features Nero d'Aquitania on the shaft and Rosso Levanto on the base, is from Italy (Rome), measures 30 cm high, 8 cm wide and 8 cm deep, and weighs about 1.35 kg in good used condition with minor age-related marks.
Description from the seller
Beautiful and refined decorative obelisk composed of a pyramidal spire resting on a squared architectural plinth base, made in several types of precious marble. The upper part (spire) and the central body are in veined Nero d'Aquitania marble, while the horizontal elements of the base feature characteristic Rosso Levanto marble with white veining. This is a typical artifact of Italian production in the 20th century, often inspired by the monuments of ancient Egypt and widely used as a luxury souvenir since the era of the Grand Tour, ideal as a tabletop sculpture or centerpiece for refined interiors.
