Description from the seller
*** Tela: 50x70x4 cm ***
“Al Tramonto” is a work that gently captures that suspended moment between light and silence, where time seems to slow down and thoughts gain space. The scene, built with a warm, blended palette, develops through orange and pink tones that evoke a sky in dissolution, almost liquid, typical of the watercolor technique.
The female figure, depicted from behind and isolated on a small wall, becomes the emotional focal point of the work: she is not just a subject, but a contemplative presence, immersed in a silent dialogue with the landscape. The thin branches, moved by the wind, frame the scene, adding movement and a subtle narrative tension.
The choice of watercolor, combined with a resin finish, creates an interesting contrast between the painting’s lightness and the final tactile depth, amplifying the luminosity of the colors and giving the piece an almost glazed, enameled rendering.
******
Autodidact artist, she develops a continually evolving painting research, free from a single, fixed style and guided by experience and expressional urgency.
Her practice begins with the observation of daily life and a constant inquiry into emotional dynamics, translating into a visual language that is essential, direct, and deliberately imperfect.
Through experimenting with different techniques and codes, each work becomes an autonomous territory, where form and content define each other. Her work explores the complexity of human beings and the relationship with nature, rejecting the idea of art as a simple decorative element, instead affirming it as an authentic and necessary presence.
In 2015 and 2016 she was a finalist in the Sunday Painters competition, promoted by La Stampa, among over 3,000 works selected. The works were evaluated by a qualified jury, with the participation of critic Francesco Bonami, and exhibited in a show connected to Artissima – International Fair of Contemporary Art of Turin.
In 2016 she received the First Prize of the Critics.
