Oil painting on canvas by C. de Zeeuw, the pseudonym of A.C.W. Terhell. He lived and worked in, among other places, Bussum (circa 1885), The Hague (until 1943), Bennekom (1943–1944), Denekamp (1944), Enschede (1944–1945), Diepenheim (1945–1948), and then settled in Beverwijk.
Terhell was a painter and is mainly known for his watercolors, in which he primarily devoted himself to landscapes, shore and seascapes, and to a lesser extent cityscapes. He taught V.
