Kai Clements
Kai Clements (aka Kai & Sunny), born in 1975, is a UK-based artist. He studied at Epsom School of Art in Surrey, where he earned a high honours degree in art and design.
Kai & Sunny’s works are characterized by vibrant color palettes, fluid movements, and meticulously layered compositions. Executed in acrylic on linen and with ink on archival paper, each piece is instantly recognizable and reveals a subtle balance between precision and spontaneity, giving Kai’s practice a unique visual signature.
The name Kai & Sunny conveys a strong ethic of collaboration with other artists, emphasizing the collective. This approach brings talents together around the idea of “unity” and allows the artist to grow and continually evolve.
Through their collaboration with the collective, Kai Clements (Kai & Sunny) has worked with Tiffany & Co, on musical projects with Toydrum (the soundtrack to Slow Horses) and on narrative projects with author David Mitchell (Cloud Atlas). Collaborating with artists and exploring different domains of innovation and expression enriches the unique working process to which Kai attaches great importance.
Kai & Sunny have exhibited worldwide, notably in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Hong Kong, Paris and London, and their works have been shown at Haunch of Venison. Their prints are in the Victoria and Albert Museum’s print collection.
