Finland flag, 288 x 190 cm, cotton, used.
Description from the seller
Old Finnish flag from the 60s–70s
Beautiful flag of Finland with the recognizable blue cross on a white background. This flag has a clear vintage look and is made of cotton. The flag has a quality control marking on it.
The flag shows signs of use such as light discolorations and stains, which contribute to the authentic and well-worn appearance.
Finland was part of the Russian Empire from 1809 to 1917. After the Finnish War between Sweden and Russia, Finland was annexed by Russia and transformed into the Grand Duchy of Finland. Although it fell under the Russian tsar, Finland gained a lot of autonomy and was largely allowed to keep its own laws, administration, and culture.
At the end of the 19th century Russia, however, tried to gain more control, which led to tensions and growing nationalism among the Finns. After the Russian Revolution in 1917 Finland seized its opportunity and proclaimed independence on 6 December 1917, which was soon recognized.
Size: 288 x 190 cm
*When purchasing multiple flags these will be shipped combined. Any overpaid shipping costs will, of course, be refunded
