CRITICAL NOTE
In this 1965 canvas, Berrino expresses his full post-impressionist maturity. The work is built on a wise chiaroscuro balance: the imposing archways in shadow frame perspectively the dynamic action of the monks. The brushwork is typically tactile and vibrant, capable of capturing the sunlight filtering from the back of the scene. The contrast between the static architecture and the movement of the figures gives the painting a poetic narrative, typical of the artist’s sun-drenched poetics. A piece of notable historical importance for the period and for its generous format.
SHIPPING
The work will be shipped framed. Professional and highly careful protective packaging will be employed, specifically for large dimensions (86x76 cm), to guarantee the integrity of the glass and the frame. Tracked and insured shipping via express courier.
