Beautiful wooden statue portraying the Virgin Mary, specifically in the iconography of Our Lady of Lourdes. It is a wonderful example of religious woodcarving, with Mary depicted in prayer with folded hands and often accompanied by a rosary hanging over her arm.

Details and Provenance
Statues of this type were often produced in the 20th century. Several artists and ateliers created similar works:
J. Lornoy: A well-known name associated with such refined wooden Marian statues. But not signed.

Materials: Usually carved from woods such as walnut or olive wood to create a warm, serene appearance.

Characteristics: Mary often stands on a rocky base (referencing the Grotto of Massabielle) and wears a veil and a long dress with deep folds.

Dimensions: 48 cm high, 11.5 cm wide, and 8.5 cm deep.

Condition: still in excellent condition. It has fallen once; the hands have been repaired, as has the nose. See photos.
