Description from the seller
Very pretty pair of bronze frames in Louis XVI style featuring two painted miniatures, probably on ivorine mounted on cardboard; works signed by the artist Ida Calzolari depicting the portraits of young girls, the glass is slightly domed, all in very good overall condition, just a small loss of the cardboard on which the miniature is affixed, invisible of course…
Dimensions with frames: 19.5 cm high, 8.5 cm wide and 0.7 cm thick.
Dimensions of the miniatures: 9.5 cm x 8 cm.
Ida Calzolari was born in 1936, a painter from a long line of Venetian painters. Her grandfather Enrico was a professor at the Beaux-Arts in Venice who, with his son Mario, spent a great deal of time studying Flemish artists. Ida has exhibited in numerous galleries around the world.
