Description from the seller
The growing importance of Aket in the art world was reinforced when he was selected by Coca-Cola for their global MASTERPIECE campaign as well as the 8.6 limited edition urban art campaign, thus confirming his status as a reference in artistic circles. Aket Kubic continues to pursue an experimental and playful approach to art, using his creations to explore and present personalities and subjects with a style close to cubism. His unique take on daily life and cubism, combined with his playful experimentation, secures him a top place in contemporary art.
THEMED: JAPAN
This captivating painting illustrates a dynamic scene through a vibrant cubist style. The interlocking geometric shapes create a complex composition where figures and animals appear to be in motion. Earthy tones, marked by shades of blue and brown, add depth and contrast with the vivid colors that highlight meticulous details. The artist skillfully plays with perspective, offering a fragmented vision that questions the viewer. Thick strokes and black outlines emphasize the painting's vibrant energy. This work does not merely depict a scene but evokes a captivating narrative inviting careful exploration of every singular detail. The piece demonstrates mastery of movement and form, making the whole both striking and enigmatic.
Artist's text:
The samurai, iconic figure of resilience and duty, appears as a living poem: a poignant duality unfolds, between the dazzling violence of combat and the quiet quest for harmony. His tachi, the curved katana, is not simply a weapon of war; it becomes an extension of his tormented soul, an obsessive meditation on the meaning of life and death.
This work resonates as a primal cry, terribly current. It is a tragic ballet where one wonders how far we would be willing to go to defend what we hold dear.
Personally, I still have doubts: when the blade rises, is it to protect or to destroy? Thus, in this painting, it will remain lowered.
