Description from the seller
This lot contains 2 different bottles from the Arran Small Batch expression.
1 - Trebbiano casks.
Arran bottled this small batch expression especially for the Netherlands. The whisky underwent full maturation in Trebbiano casks. Trebbiano is a white grape variety planted primarily in Italy and France. In France, it is known as Ugni Blanc. The casks were previously used for the experimental series of finishes that Arran released at the beginning of this century.
The whisky was distilled in June 2006 and bottled in October 2017 after eleven years of maturation. A total of 1,200 bottles are available with a cask strength of 54.6%. The whisky is not chill-filtered and retains its natural color.
Nose:
aromas of citrus fruit, grass, and spicy tobacco.
Taste:
notes of red fruit, pear drops, herbs, and spices.
Finish:
the long and warming finish has a fine balance between fruity and spicy notes.
2 - Heavily Peated
The Arran Small Batch Heavily Peated for the Netherlands is a small batch release from Isle of Arran Distillers specifically for the Dutch market. This is a limited release of only 1,500 bottles, bottled at cask strength of 56.1%, non-chill filtered, and without added coloring.
