Description from the seller
In Il Respiro della Grazia, Bivaga composes a moment of suspended encounter between the human and the ephemeral. The figure, rendered in profile, withdraws from the viewer into a private exchange. Her eyes are closed, her breath measured, as if the act of perception has turned inward rather than outward.
A hummingbird hovers before her, drawn to a small blossom that emerges from a dark vessel. Its presence introduces a fragile immediacy, a fleeting rhythm against the stillness of the figure. The delicate tension between motion and rest becomes the central axis of the composition. One breath held, one wing in motion.
The richness of her attire, deep blue and muted crimson, is balanced by the luminous restraint of her skin and the quiet precision of her jewelry. The choker encircles her neck with ceremonial weight, while the red veil frames her head with a sense of contained intensity. Light moves softly across surfaces, revealing without excess.
The painting speaks of attention as a form of grace. Not possession, not interruption, but the ability to remain still in the presence of something that cannot be held. In this encounter, beauty exists only for a moment, and that moment is enough.

About the artist:
Agatino Bivona, known artistically as Bivaga, was born in Biancavilla, Sicily, in 1972 and currently lives and works in Adrano. A pupil and close confidant of master Antonio Sciacca, Bivaga began his artistic journey at a young age and has spent over three decades refining his unmistakable visual language. His hyperrealistic portraits, rich in symbolism and emotional nuance, have been featured in major exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Celebrated in critical publications such as I Grandi Maestri (2009), and reviewed by prominent art critics like Nicola Villari and Alfredo Pasolino, Bivaga’s works are held in private collections across Europe, the United States, and Japan — carrying fragments of Sicilian elegance far beyond its borders.
