AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

EL GITANO is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado that conveys character, tradition and a strong sense of identity through a direct and symbolic aesthetic. The composition, with immediate impact, gathers recognizable cultural elements and transforms them into a powerful and contemporary image.

The use of color is intense and expressive, with marked contrasts that reinforce the energy of the work. The defined black outlines and solid color planes connect with the language of the classic poster art and pop art, granting visual clarity and an iconic character.

The central figure presents with presence and attitude, evoking pride, history and belonging. Beyond the figurative, the work suggests a strong cultural identity, charged with tradition and emotion.

Formal simplification eliminates the superfluous to focus on the essential: gesture, symbol and visual strength. Each element is designed to communicate unambiguously, generating an image that stays in memory.

EL GITANO is a work that speaks of roots, expression and character. A decisive image that turns culture into a contemporary visual symbol.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
