Two-item lot featuring a retro custom NBA Larry Bird jersey with COA and career statistics.
Description from the seller
Retro custom Larry Bird jersey including COA. Item includes career stats.
Bird was born in West Baden Springs, Indiana, the son of Georgia and Joe Bird. He grew up in West Baden Springs and the nearby town of French Lick, which earned him the nickname The Hick from French Lick.
Bird began his basketball career on the Springs Valley High School team, where he is still regarded as the most productive player ever to have played for Springs Valley High.
Bird managed to win a total of three NBA championships, notably alongside NBA legends Robert Parish and Kevin McHale. Together with Magic Johnson, he helped lead NBA basketball back to new heights, reviving the popularity that had somewhat waned up to that point. They did so primarily by reviving the longtime rivalry between Bird's Celtics and Magic's Lakers.
During his NBA career, Larry Bird posted very impressive averages of 24.3 points per game, 10.0 rebounds per game, and 6.3 assists per game.
At the 1992 Olympic Games, he earned the gold medal with the first and most legendary Dream Team.
Bird is still regarded as one of the greatest players in NBA history and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1998. He was named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history in 1996.
Earvin "Magic" Johnson Jr. (Lansing, Michigan, August 14, 1959) is an American former basketball player. He played as a point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA where he achieved his greatest successes. Together with Larry Bird (of the Boston Celtics), he was regarded as one of the figures who helped make professional basketball interesting to the media again.
He began his career at Everett High School, where he quickly developed into one of the best players at that level. In the 1976-77 season, he was among the McDonald's All-Americans. Although several universities had recruited him, under much public attention he chose Michigan State, where he would fulfill his dream of playing point guard. Standing two meters and six centimeters tall and with his exceptional ball-handling, court vision and passing, he quickly developed alongside Larry Bird (who at that time played for Indiana State) into the best college players of the moment. In 1979 he captured the coveted NCAA championship at the expense of Bird's team, in one of the greatest college battles ever seen.
