AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

EL OESTE is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado that evokes the vastness, silence, and freedom of desert landscapes. The solitary figure of the rider ventures into the horizon, crossing an open territory where time seems to stand still.

The composition frames the scene through a natural arch, creating a sense of transition, as if the viewer is observing the passage into another world. The cacti, vertical and monumental, reinforce the scale of the landscape and the solitude of the journey.

The contrast between the light earth tones and the intense blue of the sky creates a clean, expansive atmosphere. Red accents provide visual energy, while the defined black contours consolidate a graphic language close to the classic poster.

The rider's figure, small against the landscape, symbolizes independence, search, and destiny. There is no urgency, only steady, almost meditative progression.

EL OESTE is a work that speaks of travel, distance, and freedom. A serene and powerful image that turns the landscape into a symbol of inner exploration and an open horizon.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
