Vincenzo Raimondo presents Regina e Re, an original diptych in multicolour acrylic, signed by hand in 2026, featuring two complementary portrait panels (70 cm x 50 cm) with gold crowns in an expressionist style and a bold, non-realistic depiction.
Description from the seller
Regina e Re is a diptych that explores the concept of identity and power through a symbolic and contemporary representation of the human figure. The two works, conceived as complementary, dialogue with each other, creating a visual and narrative balance that recalls the duality between masculine and feminine, strength and grace, structure and fluidity.
The figures, deliberately devoid of realistic traits, are constructed through essential signs and vibrant chromatic fields, which replace the face with a more emotional and universal language. The golden crowns, central elements of the composition, become a symbol not only of royalty but also of inner identity, suggesting a nobility that transcends appearance.
The use of acrylic is deliberate and tactile: the dark background, almost scratched, creates a powerful contrast with the luminous and saturated colors of the figures, emphasizing the subjects' stage presence. The white lines that delineate the shapes give rhythm and definition, guiding the observer's gaze along the entire composition.
***********
Self-taught artist, my work does not follow a fixed style, but evolves with time and with experiences.
My painting comes from observing daily life and listening to emotions.
I address different themes and experiment with new languages, letting each work find its own form.
Mine is an instinctive, essential and imperfect art, tied to the complexity of the human being and of nature.
Art, to me, is not decoration but authentic and lived presence.
In 2015 and 2016 I was a finalist in the Sunday Painters competition promoted by La Stampa, among over 3,000 works selected.
The selections were curated by a qualified jury, with the presence of critic Francesco Bonami.
The finalists were presented in a review linked to Artissima – International Fair of Contemporary Art of Turin. In 2016 I received the Critics’ First Prize.
