THE WORK

"Springs" rests on one of Seneca's most penetrating reflections, where violence is not understood as an expression of force, but as a symptom of inner fragility.

The phrase shifts the gaze from the cruel act to its emotional origin: insecurity, fear, the inability to govern oneself. From this perspective, the work becomes a commentary on human nature and on the ethics of self-control, reminding us that true strength is not imposed but exercised from serenity and lucidity.

The message invites the viewer to reconsider the relationship between power and vulnerability, proposing that authentic greatness resides in the ability not to respond with harm, even when one has the option to do so. A piece that, rather than illustrating an idea, embodies it as a moral statement and an timeless reflection.

For Kiru, matter, line, and color are not only key elements in the creative process, but also the ones that transform each piece into a stimulating and positive visual experience.

Kiru is a Spanish artist with an intuitive and accessible palette, and who holds a Degree in Art from the Open University of Catalonia (Spain).

Kiru derives from the Sanskrit root kṛ, which means to create, do, trace, and is at the origin of terms such as kṛti (work) or karma (action). It is a historic and well-documented root, directly linked to the creative act understood as gesture, process, and transformation.

THE COLLECTION

In the tradition of abstract art there is a recurring story: many painters who tried to expel language entirely discovered that, even in the absence of form, the text leaves an inevitable trace. Not as legible words, but as a human trace, as a gesture of consciousness. That minimal presence — a symbol, an incomplete syllable, a sign that looks like a letter but isn’t — acts as a reminder that behind color and matter there is a will that decides.

That same idea naturally connects with Stoic writings: texts that do not seek adornment, but to affirm an inner attitude toward the world. Therefore, in the collection “Abstract Stoicism,” including textual fragments transformed, disfigured, or reduced to pure visual energy is not a caprice of aesthetics, but a coherent act: the best Stoic thoughts become abstract footprints to be perceived as the vibration of a will that does not break.
