Melting Point captures the exact moment when the form begins to yield. The cold, suspended in a precarious balance, emerges as a body in transition — still recognizable, but already marked by gravity and time. The running of the color transforms a familiar object into a field of tension, where pleasure and loss coexist.
The pictorial surface oscillates between the real and the artificial. The dense and glossy texture of the top layer contrasts with the rougher background, traversed by inscriptions and nearly erased gestures, like memories or visual noise. This contrast shifts the motif from the territory of immediate pop to a more ambiguous space, where the image becomes a commentary on consumption, desire and impermanence.
Far from being just a study of matter, Melting Point proposes a reflection on the limit — the critical moment when something changes state and can no longer return to its original form. The work fixes this moment of instability, making it permanent, and invites the viewer to stay where everything is about to happen.
