Description:
This is a charming vintage Japanese hanging lantern (tsuri-doro) made of heavy cast iron. It features a classic hexagonal (six-sided) pagoda design, traditionally used to illuminate temple gardens or tea houses.

Key Features:

Artistic Openwork: Each panel is decorated with traditional Japanese motifs, including a crescent moon and geometric lattice patterns. When a candle or LED is placed inside, it casts beautiful, atmospheric shadows.

Material & Patina: Made of solid cast iron with a wonderful aged patina. The surface shows a natural "koshoku" (antique look) with subtle oxidation that adds to its wabi-sabi character.

Functional Design: It has a small door for easy access to place a candle. The top features a sturdy iron ring, allowing it to be either hung from a beam or placed as a centerpiece on a table or in a garden.

Condition (Detailed):
This item is in good vintage condition with authentic wear and rust consistent with age.
Please note: The small hinged door on one side shows some distortion and warpage in the cast iron. As a result, the door may not align perfectly or close completely flush with the lantern frame. The original hinges are present and functional, allowing the door to open and close.
