Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images

Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Subsequently intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a haunting, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.

With this series, David Law dives into purified and dark universes, inhabited by phantom silhouettes suspended. these indistinct, almost erased presences wander in strange landscapes where the void becomes matter. through a visual writing built with contemporary graphic tools, the artist explores the notion of isolation, of trace and of memory. A silent crossing, at the borders of the visible and the invisible.

Edition & Fabrication

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated rear mounting. Printing on bright white vinyl, laminated between two aluminum plates, with soft anti-UV and anti-moisture lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, great longevity, color stability and a modern, contemporary rendering

Parcours

Since 2014, David Law participates in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also a photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops authorial work and music including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
