Description from the seller

New Series – Lost Souls

David Law

Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images

Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to shop-window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Subsequently intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relation to illusion and projection.

New Series – Lost Souls

With this series, David Law dives into pared-down, dark universes, inhabited by phantom silhouettes suspended. These indistinct, almost erased presences wander through strange landscapes where emptiness becomes matter. Through a visual writing built with the help of contemporary graphic tools, the artist explores the notions of isolation, trace, and memory. A silent journey, at the borders of the visible and the invisible.

Edition & Manufacture

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies plus 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term resilience, color stability and a modern, contemporary look.

Career

Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the designated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual work, he develops a writer/author and musician career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. Lead singer and guitarist, he is currently performing with the group FRENZY.
