In new condition
THE ENGRAVED LID PLATE
The top of the motor housing is formed by a decorative brass plate on which the months and days of the year are engraved. With this you can adjust the model so that you can follow in real time the relative positions of the Earth, Moon and Sun.
MOVEMENT ON A SMALL SCALE
The most striking component of the tellurium is the beautifully engraved brass motor housing containing the gearing and the power regulator. It shows the 12 astronomical constellations with which you can follow the Earth’s orbit around the Sun.
The gear ratios have been precisely calculated to reproduce the movement of Earth and Moon exactly. At the highest speed of the motor, the model will complete one day in two seconds. For a month, 60 seconds are needed, while a year lasts 12 minutes. The model can also be operated manually, with adjustable speed. Also the Moon, with a width of over 5 degrees, is constructed.
MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION
The gears are made of solid brass.
The cast spheres are made of high-quality ABS, are extremely finely detailed and show the surface of the Sun, the continents, oceans and polar masses of the Earth and the craters, highlands and plains of the Moon.
The Sun contains an built-in LED lamp.
The Earth axis of the model has the same inclination as our home world; the tellurium thus realistically shows the passage of the seasons as the Earth makes its orbit around the Sun.
During shipping some parts are shipped disassembled. These are easy to reassemble. The model is packed in a plastic case with bubble wrap and then in a cardboard box.
