Vanessa Bonino presents Koi Kohaku, a 2026 unique terracotta sculpture patinated cold in white with red‑orange spots, 20 × 35 × 8 cm, signed by hand, a one‑of‑a‑kind piece suitable for hanging or display, including COA and shipped directly from the artist.
Description from the seller
In this work, Vanessa Bonino shapes the terracotta to give life to an extraordinarily realistic and dynamic Koi Carp. The sculpture captures the sinuous movement of the fish, a symbol of perseverance and luck, with meticulous attention to the details of the scales and fins. The cold patination, applied with extreme precision, reproduces the classic variety "Kohaku": a pristine white body dotted with vivid red-orange patches, which seem to vibrate on the ceramic material. Unique piece (1/1), the work transforms an ancestral element of Eastern fauna into a refined object of contemporary design. Includes COA.
Hangs for wall mounting.
Can be hung or placed on a surface.
Will be shipped inside a solid package, with certificate of authenticity.
Vanessa Bonino is a contemporary artist whose current research focuses on the plastic force of material sculpture. Trained in the cultural fervor of Turin, Bonino has evolved her eclectic style toward an original synthesis between ceramic tradition and digital languages.
Her latest productions bear witness to a deep experimentation with terracotta and glazed ceramics, where ancestral forms — such as the bull figure or the carp — are reinterpreted through low-poly geometries or expressively dynamic sculptures. Her stylistic signature is distinguished by the skilled use of changing cold patinas and vitreous glazes, capable of transforming earth into surfaces vibrant with light and color.
Addressing themes tied to nature and the metamorphosis of matter, Bonino creates works that are at once solid and fluid, inviting the viewer to reflect on the boundary between the archaic and the future. Her steady rise in the Italian contemporary art scene is confirmed by an increasingly solid presence in private collections and dynamic exhibition settings.
